Takanori Washizuka of "WASHIZUKA GLASS STUDIO", based in Toyama Prefecture, creates glass works.
While Toyama is known for "medicine sellers", it's also called a "glass city". This nickname originated because, before the war, factories manufacturing glass bottles for medicines were lined up in the area.
Having been familiar with glass culture since childhood, we'll introduce the charm of "ashitsuki short" and "ashitsuki wide", and suggest recommended ways to use them.
Elevate Your Drink Just by Pouring: "ashitsuki short"

"WASHIZUKA GLASS STUDIO" is a handmade glass brand creating everyday items. As Washizuka says, "To live comfortably every day, we create simple, unobtrusive, and ordinary glass."
"Ashitsuki short" is a glass that looks beautiful with anything. Pour beer, wine, soda, or tea, and your mood will lift, making the usual taste feel many times more delicious.

Hand-blown with a subtle waviness, yet the craft feel is subdued. Its sharp and crisp beauty is also charming. You can even use it as a mini parfait container by alternating fruits and cream, highlighting its adorable form.

"Ashitsuki wide" is slightly shorter than "ashitsuki short", and as its name suggests, has a significantly wider silhouette. The balance between the glass and base is exquisite, creating a stylish atmosphere just by being on the dining table.

With its boldly wide rim, it pairs well with anything. Perfect for desserts like yogurt, ice cream, coffee jelly, or pudding. In summer, filling it with chilled soup creates a refreshingly stylish combination.
Interview with Takanori Washizuka of WASHIZUKA GLASS WORKS
"Never Forgetting That People Will Use This as an Everyday Item"

Born in Toyama Prefecture, he worked at Toyama Glass Studio before becoming independent in 2004. After launching his brand in 2015, he has continued to create glass with honest forms that harmonize with any setting.
He began making vessels after being drawn to the glass-blowing technique. However, his interest gradually shifted from mastering the technique itself to considering what and how to create.
When making glass, he carefully considered harmony with other material vessels and whether to add color. He believes that a slight hint of color provides a sense of calm and makes it easier to use on the dining table, which led to the current design.
Before Purchasing
・Each piece is shaped manually. No two are exactly alike. Please enjoy their individual expressions.
・Fine bubbles are present in the glass, which are part of the manufacturing process and not defects. The enclosed bubbles allow you to sense the time it takes for glass to solidify. We hope you'll enjoy the nuances when combined with food or placed on the table.
・For first-time use, please wash with water or lukewarm water.
・Remove stains promptly after use and store after thoroughly drying.
・When stacking, placing a thin paper between prevents scratching.
・Returns are not accepted due to differences in image or customer preferences.
Things to Avoid
・Abrasive cleaners or cleansers containing abrasives
・Using metal scrubbers. (Scrubbing hard may scratch the surface, so please use a soft sponge.)
・Using when chipped or cracked
・Be careful not to drag the vessel to avoid scratching the table
・Not heat-resistant glass. Due to sensitivity to temperature changes, we do not recommend pouring hot water suddenly.
