Handcrafted Design

Designed exclusively for Sencha-do Tokyo / Tokyo Saryo, each ceramic cup is handmade. The egg-shaped form, reminiscent of a wine glass, allows you to fully appreciate the tea's aroma. Its adorable round shape and matte white glaze provide a pleasant tactile experience.

Usage Precautions

Ceramic ware naturally develops microscopic cracks and pores in the glaze. These cracks, known as "crazing" (kannyu), will gradually absorb tea stains over time, changing the cup's appearance.

If you wish to minimize tea stain absorption, you can perform a "sealing" process. Soak the ceramic in rice rinsing water and gently boil it over low heat. This will help maintain the cup's original condition.

After use and washing, ensure the cup is thoroughly dry before storing.

Please avoid using a dishwasher. Also, note that small black spots or pinhole-sized cavities may be visible due to the firing process. These are natural characteristics of handmade ceramics and not considered product defects.
