Senchado Tokyo's Ginza store and online shop are currently offering a limited summer edition "Jasmine Tea" based on sencha. This elegant blend tea features real "jasmine" flowers generously scattered among the milk-scented "Kanayamidori" tea. Using only natural ingredients without artificial fragrances, the rising aroma of jasmine creates a refreshing tea time experience, whether served hot or iced. Today, we're introducing an arrangement recipe: "Jasmine Tea Cream Soda"!
Jasmine Tea Cream Soda
Ingredients (for 3-4 servings)
- Jasmine Tea "Jasmine" × "Kanayamidori" 13g
- Hot water 150ml
- Sugar 20g
- Mint 1 leaf
Preparation
1. Make the syrup
First, let's make the syrup. Put 150ml of water in a pot and heat it. Once the water boils, reduce the heat and add 13g of tea leaves to 150ml of water. Simmer for 1 minute.
2. Let it sit for 2 minutes
Turn off the heat and let it sit for 2 minutes.
3. Strain the tea leaves
Use a tea strainer to filter out the tea leaves.
4. Add sugar and simmer
Add 20g of sugar to the mixture from step 3 and simmer on low heat for 5 minutes to complete the syrup. [point] Adjust the sugar amount to your liking! 20g is a bit on the low side, so if you prefer it sweeter, add a little more. If you want to enjoy more of the tea flavor, you can reduce it further.
5. Serve and enjoy
Fill your favorite glass with plenty of ice cubes, add 3 teaspoons of syrup, and slowly pour in carbonated water. Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and garnish with mint to finish!
"Jasmine Tea" is delicious on its own. Although it takes a bit of effort, you can enjoy the elegant aroma of jasmine and "Kanayamidori" wafting through your kitchen while preparing it. It's also recommended to try it as a tea soda without the vanilla ice cream.
