Refreshing Early Summer "Jasmine Tea" Recipe

The "Jasmine Tea," known as the queen of flower teas, makes a striking impression with its fragrance that wafts gently from the moment hot water is poured over the tea leaves. At Senchado Tokyo, we've created this Chinese tea, which is traditionally made by carefully infusing green tea with the scent of jasmine flowers, using our specially selected Japanese tea. The "Kanayamidori" tea, with its robust bitterness, rich flavor, and milky aroma, pairs perfectly with the elegant fragrance of jasmine. We've mixed flower petals into the tea leaves, resulting in a visually appealing blend. In summer, enjoy it as a refreshing iced tea with a crisp taste.

Refreshing Early Summer "Jasmine Tea" Recipe

Jasmine, which is also a type of herb, contains aromatic compounds believed to have calming and anti-anxiety effects. Green tea's amino acid, theanine, is thought to have relaxing properties. Therefore, a blend of green tea and jasmine is ideal for times when you want to soothe your mind. When you're feeling a bit stressed, take a moment to relax with a cup of jasmine tea.

Ingredients

- 4g "Jasmine Tea" leaves
- 120ml water at 85°C (first infusion)
- 50ml water at 85°C (second infusion)
- Ice cubes, as needed

Preparation

1. Brew the first infusion

Place the tea leaves in a teapot, pour 120ml of 85°C water, and steep for 1 minute.

2. Rapid cooling

Fill a glass server with plenty of ice cubes, pour in the tea from step 1, stir, and rapidly cool.

3. Brew the second infusion and mix

Pour 50ml of 85°C water into the teapot again, steep for 30 seconds, then add it to the glass server. Stir, pour into a glass, and it's ready!

Simply garnishing with jasmine flowers creates an elegant mood. Even the glass after finishing the tea looks refreshingly cool.
