We'll introduce you to brewing methods that bring out the characteristics of the tea leaves, along with food pairings to enjoy. The steps are the same as the basic brewing method, but you can adjust the temperature and steeping time to your liking.
The Flavor of "008 Z1"
"008 Z1", grown in the cold winds at the mountain top of Wazuka, has a robust and full-bodied flavor. With its dark leaf color, the taste and aroma permeate deeply, just as described by producer Mr. Tamura. As it's lightly steamed, there's no thickness, but it has a coexisting richness and crispness, with notes of young grass arising afterwards. To bring out this aroma, the key point in this recipe is the longer steeping time for the first infusion.
"008 Z1" Pairing: "Persimmon Millefeuille"
Persimmon Millefeuille, made with persimmons in season from October to November, is a melt-in-your-mouth dessert from places like Nagano Prefecture, where butter is sandwiched between dried persimmons. The richness, astringency, and aroma of "008 Z1" combine with the persimmon and butter to create a modern tea time experience. As "008 Z1" is brewed at a slightly higher temperature, it melts the butter, harmonizing the overall flavors and leaving a refreshing aftertaste.
